I’ve loved reading for as long as I can remember, often spending hours immersed in romance and fantasy novels. Over the past year, I had the opportunity to collaborate with an author as both an advisor and editor, an experience that sparked my passion for helping writers bring their stories to life. That passion ultimately led to the creation of my business, smoore-proofreading.com.

In addition to proofreading and beta reading for an author, I have also worked as an ARC reader for multiple authors, providing early feedback on manuscripts prior to publication. These experiences have strengthened my ability to identify inconsistencies, improve readability, and support authors in creating polished, engaging stories.

I especially enjoy working with romance, fantasy, and LGBTQ+ fiction, though I appreciate a wide variety of genres. My goal is to help writers strengthen their work while preserving their unique voice and vision.

Outside of editing, I work as a Veterinary Technician at a local emergency animal hospital. When I’m not working or reading, I enjoy spending time with my two cats, Swallowtail and Coal, who are usually curled up beside me during a good book.
